Lots of great inspiration here to lend a tropical/island/chinoiserie vibe to your home. The wallpaper is Balinese Batik by Quadrille. Note the chic and economical seagrass matting, a bamboo Chinese Chippendale chair, Amanda Lindroth wicker hurricane used as a vase, a pair of trellis lamps, a Chinese console table, and an absolutely amazing seashell mirror.
Normally I’m crazy about Quadrille but not so much this pattern here. Very distracting. Love all else.
ReplyDeleteIt does make a statement.
DeleteWell, I like it!
ReplyDeleteI'm also not so wild about the hexagonal wall object reflected in the mirror.
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
DeleteVery pretty and upbeat. The wallpaper feels a bit country, a la Calico Corners, but all in all it works.
ReplyDeleteThe mirror is spectacular. The natural window shades (reflected in the mirror) look just right for this setting. Sea grass floor covering is terrific but this particular seagrass matting shown here is a bitch to maintain as it sheds all over. We had it in one of our previous kitchens, never again. Love the look, love how reasonably priced it is but there are many others that would work as well.
I have not had that issue with seagrass matting or seagrass rugs, but I have not seen it used in a high use are like a kitchen.
DeleteI like it all except the wallpaper, which reminds me of a quilt!
ReplyDeleteIt is batik, but does remind me of a quilt, but I love vintage quilts. My mother was a collector.
DeleteI happen to love that shade of blue in the wallpaper. What would you call it?
ReplyDeleteQuadrille calls this French Blue.
DeleteThis picture is giving me a headache though I like each individual thing. I think it's because it's off center and the lone chair is throwing me off. Maybe a second chair on the other side would balance the busy wallpaper
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
