Casa Chinoiserie Chic

Thank you for all your lovely comments yesterday. I appreciate them very much. Yesterday went absolutely great - my Alexandria home has lovely new owners and the inspections on my new house went smoothly. My painters came by after the inspection and surprised me with the best prosciutto ever and Italian bread. We all observed social distancing - I brought my treats home for a  lovely lunch. They start the day after I close. We looked at paint samples - he has a wonderful eye, and he had some great ideas on the project. They did a stunning job on this house, and I can't wait for them to transform the new house. Paint makes such a difference.

The house is so perfect for me. Three bedrooms, two baths, one level, a lanai that looks out on to beautiful preserves. I celebrated last night with a great bottle of Champagne and carryout from by favorite Mexican restaurant in Sarasota. I am not eating at restaurants, but like to support those I really like by taking out.

Here are lots of the listing photos. The community has swimming, tennis, golf, and a fitness center as well. I am going to take the weekend off and relax after a very productive week. I am so excited to have each of you follow along as I transform this already pretty home into a Chinoiserie Chic/ Palm Beach/Old Florida/Tropical home of my dreams. I also love gardening and am very excited about designing the garden.

  4. Well, this will be fun! Sounds like a winning team for the painting.
Glad the inspections went well and you are taking the weekend to celebrate this BFD as Biden commented to Obama about the passing of"Obamacare!!!" Glad to hear you are still being cautious about the virus. The fat lady hasn't sung on this one, I'm afraid. So looking forward to watching this new home of yours come alive and suddenly speaking Chinoiserie.

    1. I will have so much to do in the house that I can social distance indefinitely! My painting and other projects are all being done before I move in while the house is vacant which is great.

  5. WOW, beautiful with infinite potential. My favorite part among others? The floor in the living are and beyond. Is it limestone?
Can't wait to see what you'll do! So happy for you.

    1. I love the floors, and they are in every room of the house including all the closets and laundry room. They are even prettier in person. My real estate agent mentioned area rugs and I was thinking - no way!

  6. So jealous. Just great that it is all on one level. Best thing ... NO island in the kitchen... you have the freedom to arrange that space as you prefer. And a community pool that you don't have to clean and maintain. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it all.

    1. That's funny - this house has two levels and I never go upstairs, a pool that is expensive to maintain that we don't use, and an island that breaks up the kitchen. I completely agree.

  8. So great that all inspections went well. Congratulations on this gorgeous new home. I had really gotten away from blogs over the past few years. Yours was one of the very few I would pop in on to catch up and make sure I hadn't missed anything. Now yours is the only one, and I actually look forward to checking in each morning with my coffee. Thank you for sharing this journey. It will be so much fun to watch a real home come alive with the owner's gorgeous taste and real possessions. So much of what's out there now is silly content creating makeovers and swipe-up links for trendy junk. This is going to be fun. All the very best on this exciting journey! You deserve it. Cathy
