One Room Challenge - Week Three

Thanks for checking in on Week Three of the One Room Challenge where I am turning my library into an office for myself for my blogging and interior design work. For weeks one and two, click here or on the gold ORC button in my sidebar.

Last week you will recall that I had the room painted in Benjamin Moore Lavender Mist.

My game plan this week was to decide on and order the art. The room is small. One wall is all built in bookcases. The room also has a door, a window, and built in file cabinets taking up wall space.

The previous owners had the amazing idea of installing file cabinets in a wall that was deep enough because it is under the staircase. There are four file drawers so there is ample storage for files and supplies.

I am going to redo all my hanging files and am ordering new hanging files in chic colors.

With my limited wall space, I have decided on using just three dramatic pieces of art that I love. From Minted, I have ordered this wonderful black and white photograph called "Looking Up" by Gail Schechter. I am having it framed in a black frame in their largest size of 44" by 44" so it should be quite dramatic.

Looking Up

I am also very excited to be getting two pieces of art from The Pink Pagoda. Are you aware that the uber talented Jennifer has started creating botanical photographs that she is taking herself? Peonies are a favorite flower of mine and I have chosen this pair to hang above my desk. Aren't they stunning?

Next week I have a great DIY project to share - I found a perfect little desk and I am gold leafing it myself.

Now let's go see what the rest of the gang has been busy doing this past week.
