Chinoiserie Red, White, and Blue & Painted Woodwork

When someone mentions red, white, and blue decor, I'm sure this is not what comes to mind! A stunning Chinoiserie vignette by interior designer Christopher Maya with de Gournay wallpaper in a custom cobalt blue, red lacquered woodwork, and a great bar.

Are you brave enough to paint your woodwork in a color other than white? These designers have used colors like purple, red, orange, turquoise, black, blue, and brown. The woodwork really pops against Chinoiserie wallpaper or lacquered walls.

  3. Glorious beautiful color! I prefer woodwork to be painted the same color as the walls. What your selections remind me is how much I hate white ceilings in deeply colored rooms! (I know some of the examples are not "ceiling white". Some how the white ceilings remind me of upside down too short pants! Maybe it's because I am doomed to 8' ceilings in most of my house that I gave up white ceilings. Go bold, go cocoon and paint the ceiling dark. I know I'm standing in a very short line for this preference.
