Whenever I do posts on canopy beds (that I adore), I invariably get a comment or two that the commenter's husband would never agree to one. I find nothing inherently feminine about canopy beds - it is all in the execution. Here is my inspiration board above, and some great examples below. These rooms could be master bedrooms or a gentleman's bedroom. Here are my preferences -

1. A steel canopy bed left undressed - as in no bed curtains
2. Stripes
3. Leather
4. Animal prints
5. Walls painted gray, white, beige, or blue or wallpapered in stripes
6. If there is room - a daybed or chaise - a great place for a nap
7. Touches of black
8. A Chinese screen behind the bed
9. White bedding with a camel cashmere blanket
