The Question of Peach

Aesthetic Oiseau raised an interesting question in her post today using the photo below on the issue of whether the color peach is terminally dated. Doesn't it conjure up visions of the 1980s and Mario Buatta? I guess I have two thoughts on this. First, call it melon or coral or orange instead of peach and it feels instantly modern. Second, Chinoiserie is wonderful in any color, as with these examples I've shown here. Peach is no exception.

    I love peach, I mean melon, and if it is referred to as "evocative of a time in our youth" it sounds a lot better than "dated".

    A peach by any other name would smell as sweet? Ha. ha... In all seriousness though, I love peach!!! I'll even call it peach. It's delicate, warm, and who doesn't look radiant in a candlelit peach room? Can't say that about steel gray.

    Peach - rather melon is such a great color. It's a very flattering color for most people.
