I have come to a difficult decision. I've decided that starting today I will no longer feature Chinoiserie. I have fallen so totally in love with the Belgian look in interior design that I can no longer contain my enthusiasm. I will shop only at Restoration Hardware. I will use only salvaged, worm eaten, unstained wood. No more color for me-only beige, gray, or white. Linen will be my fabric of choice. Patterned wallpaper and fabric will be relegated to the past. Industrial pieces will fill my home and blog. Sparse and monochromatic will be my new look. Stay tuned-I am even working on a reclaimed blog banner.
APRIL FOOL, RIGHT??
ReplyDeleteYou had me for a minute there, Beth!!!

You had me for a minute as well....then I looked at the calendar! This was good.
ReplyDeleteHehe... I don't think so! I'm really loving the look of your blog at the moment!!
ReplyDeleteApril Fools!

Not even when hell freezes over. I totally knew you were fooling from the first sentence. Hillarious though.
ReplyDeleteLol, that was very funny;) I like your sense of humor missy;)
ReplyDeleteBesos,
Jaime
You had me for a minute :)
ReplyDeleteGood one!!
I adore your blog and would die if you ever changed a thing!
xo
People who love Chinoiserie have too much whimsy—and humor for the one step removed from the dumpster look. But thanks for my first laugh of the day.
ReplyDeleteHA!!! Whose leg are YOU pullin'???
ReplyDeleteApril Fool's!!!!
I would be wrecked if you did that!!!
Belgian is nice but we are PASSIONATE for Chinoiserie!!!
Nice try :)
ReplyDeleteBeth, I almost believed you!ha ha
ReplyDeleteHave a great Easter,
Leeann x
I love your blog, and I love a good April's Fool joke. I also love Restoration Hardware. I mix it all. Keep up the beautiful blog!
ReplyDeleteTeresa
If this is (hopefully) a JOKE?
ReplyDeleteHAHA...
If not..
TATA..
Chinoiserie Chic ROCKS!
Long after this Beligian, hewn-out-of-boulders, bland-beyond-bland, fad of the year fades, you'll be blogging Chinoiserie. Imagine how ugly, clunky, and gray all of this Belgian stuff will look in five year. Sure, it has its appeals now, but later?
ReplyDeleteLOL I was in shock, only for a moment though! Beth too funny!

Ha, HA - You didn't have me fooled for ONE minute! ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy April Fools Beth.
ReplyDeleteYou know I've had a post sitting in draft form for weeks now railing about how sick I am of Belgian and how depressing RH is right now. I WANT COLOR!
Did I miss the memo about Hell freezing over? Great April Fool's Day joke! Michele
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the picture I thought - she is going to bash it. And then, much to my surprise, it sounded complimentary! Until the worm part. So I hate to admit it, but it took me a sec to realize what was going on. Totally funny. Very nicely done ;)

Glad I read your comments, because I thought you were for real and I was about to become upset. Can't wait to see more great chinoiserie posts!
ReplyDeleteMy mom and I both looked at each other and said "April Fools," but you picked a good style to want to switch to!
ReplyDeleteGood one. Seeing as it was already April 2 on this side of the world by the time I read your post I didn't quite get it at first. Phew is all I can say!
ReplyDeleteWHAAAAAT?????? Thank God this is April 1 or I would be very sad....there are enough people covering Belgian and your blog is a refreshing and colorful departure.
ReplyDeleteI haven't stopped by in such a long while, i almost fell out of my chair...you got me. xo kitty
ReplyDeleteWhatever has taken over our beloved Beth's Chinoiserie mind please leave her body immediately!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteAll-Thanks for all your clever comments. This post was done on a lark and turned out to be quite fun. Have a wonderful Easter weekend.
