Today we look at modern versions of silk hand-painted framed panels. The Gumps version is hand-painted on rice paper. Often used in pairs, any of these would be a stunning focal point for a living room, dining room, or bedroom. The pair from The Source Collection is lovely and well priced at $1,350 for the framed pair with each panel measuring a generous 40" by 58." But depending on your budget, any of these would be wonderful additions to your home.
Mmmmm chic, rich, classic - mmmm very cool! A favorite of my friend Ann's - I'll pass this on. Jennifer jennsthreegraces

Jardins du Jour has some other terrific chinoiserie panels also, and is well worth a visit. Very nice post.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue and white, of course.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for the links to the resources. I will add these to my own resources list. It is always good to have these on hand when needed. Simply marvellous!
ReplyDeleteMy mom just bought a beautiful trio of chinoiserie panels at an estate sale. I'll have to share pictures when they're hung! xx
ReplyDeleteI love this look. I used that pair from The Source Collection and they are beautiful. My only regret is failing to get good pictures before my client moved...
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE one like the first set!
These panels remind me of an eighteenth-century Italian chinoiserie screen (inspired by famille vert porcelain, by the looks of it) that Aesthete's Lament recently featured. It's lot 179 in the upcoming Wrightsman sale (http://www.sothebys.com/app/ecatalogue/fhtml/index.jsp?event_id=30151#/r=index-fhtml.jsp?event_id=30151|r.main=lot.jsp?event_id=30151&id=179/).
