Today is the first in a series of posts I will be doing on the world's most beautiful wallpapers. It must have occurred to you by now that the world's most expensive and gorgeous papers, used by the top interior designers are Chinoiserie. We must be onto something here! The hand painted papers of de Gournay stand at the pinnacle of interior design. Their Chinoiserie series is based on 18th century designs. Notice how these papers are used in every type of room-entry, dressing room, bedroom, dining room, or living room. Everywhere they take center stage. Go through the pictures and visualize these rooms without the de Gournay. Although an investment, a room done in de Gournay certainly does not need artwork or much embellishment. Enjoy these stunning rooms by your favorite designers including Charlotte Moss, Miles Redd, Ruthie Sommers, Kelly Wearstler, and Martha Angus.
Having a wallpapered room like this is one of my dreams...I really hope to do it someday. Thanks for the beautiful pictures!
