ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen Sargent's painting "The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit"? I have been in LOVE with giant porcelain vases ever since I saw them in that painting(you can see it here)!
ReplyDeleteI remember learning (in art history, a while ago) that they were all the rage at one time, a status symbol of culture among the very wealthy, due to the cost and difficulty of acquiring and transporting them! Anyway, this reminded me of that.
Also, you have fantastic obelisks! Are they covered in shells?
