Christmas has come early this year. The much awaited Alessandra Branca book, New Classic Interiors, that was due to be released in November, is out. Instead of under the Christmas tree, it is now on its way to me. Below are some photos of her work that have appeared in shelter magazines. You can see that she is drawn to Chinoiserie, and uses it with antiques and classic pieces in such a timeless, elegant, and sophisticated manner. For my previous post on her Chinoiserie influenced rooms, click here. Above is a photo from her new book that I borrowed from Jennifer's review at The Peak of Chic. You had me at Chinoiserie bar!
I love the room in the last two photos. That black screen is amazing! I'm new to your blog and love it already!
ReplyDeleteMary-Thanks so much! Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI, too, am eagerly awaiting this book. I have loved her style for years. This fall is bringing wonderful reads. Lucky us! Have a creative weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of draping off the dining room. I have the same sort of space, with the same woodwork, and I think it would look smashing!
ReplyDeleteI love Branca's take on traditional/Chinoiserie style. It's so fresh and I love all the red! Her store's website is equally fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I'm off to Amazon to get myself an early Xmas gift. ;) Have a great weekend, Beth!
love her!!!!
ReplyDeleteMary-So glad you've discovered Chinoiserie Chic and like it-please come back!
ReplyDeleteHome Before Dark-There are fewer and fewer shelter magazines, but more great design books. I am buried. But I know this will be a favorite!
ReplyDeleteKitty-I had the same thought about trying this. I love the look.
ReplyDeleteAverill-Her taste and style are perfection. Can't wait to start reading it.
ReplyDeleteJoni-I know it will be great!
