I love the look of a bar all set up for entertaining and here are some great ideas to style it with Chinoiserie panache. In the first example above, use a Chinese cabinet. A lovely lacquerware tray from Caspari would be a great organizer and they come in a wide range of colors to coordinate. In the example below which is the bar of Miles Redd, the table need not be Chinoiserie. Just put on it or nearby Chinoiserie touches like a garden stool or ginger jar.
This is my dream bar by Baker-the Bamboo Server-stunning, a real investment piece.
Another view.
A similar look although smaller, but at a fabulous price for only $249 from Mermaid Hut.
This wonderful lacquerware tray that comes in many colors is only $30 from Caspari. Use one to set up a bar on your kitchen counter or on a table in your living room.
I have this tray by Lunt and I think it's gorgeous. Black lacquer with silver handles at $135-a very elegant piece.
And don't forget a gorgeous bottle of Domaine de Canton for your Chinoiserie bar!

Love these. I need to do this.
ReplyDeleteI must agree on the bamboo server - very chic. The first image blows my mind a bit - I don't like most of the elements in it, but together it just works, in a very eclectic way.
ReplyDeleteI also love the bamboo server, fabulous! I take my martini shaken not stirred :-)

That Lunt tray is stunning -- and a good price! I love it.
ReplyDeleteG.-A great project.
ReplyDeleteSF-Agree-the Baker Bamboo Server is wonderful, but pricey-about $2000. The first photo is sort of fun and funky.
ReplyDeleteAverill-I thinks it's very elegant. I use it all the time. Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteLeeann-I'll make a mental note of that!
ReplyDeleteI did a post about my bar a while back. I use a thai chest as my bar...it works perfectly.

Jill-Great post and great bar!
ReplyDeleteFirst pic. - love the wallpaper. Oh how I'd love to sport a bar stocked like Miles Redd's. We have two bars in our house but nothing that looks as exciting as his. Then again I have a teen & purposely leave it "dry"!
ReplyDeleteDumbwit Tellher-That's no fun!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! xx Leia
ReplyDeleteHiFashion-Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI love to Baker piece too!!!! Now I just need to money tree to just start producing...
ReplyDeleteMust say merci for the intro to the Mermaid Hut. My friend has already purchased a few of their affordably priced pieces.
Alicia-The Mermaid Hut golden bamboo pieces are lovely in person-they look much more expensive than they are.
