I received an email from a reader inquiring about Chinoiserie wastebaskets. These pictured here, available at one of my favorite online stores The Well Appointed House are by far my favorites. I personally love a powder room with gorgeous Chinoiserie wallpaper, but I realize that some people, and especially men, can be wallpaper averse. A great alternative is to pick out one of these wonderful wastebaskets with or without matching tissue box cover. Color match a color from it you love and paint your powder room in high gloss paint. Get some beautiful Chinoiserie guest towels, which I will cover in an upcoming post, and you are done!
I love wallpaper in a powder room or dining room myself - love some of these wastebaskets too!!
ReplyDeleteStefan-The top seven pictures are all decoupaged. I get many comments from readers whose husbands hate wallpaper, so this is a great look. I love wallpaper, especially in a powder room or dining room.
ReplyDeleteAll lovely, but I think my favorite is the green/white key design.
ReplyDeleteAverill-Love that one that they call "Fret"-it also comes in blue.
ReplyDeleteOhh I love the bamboo and fretwork baskets!
ReplyDeleteS & S-They are sort of Preppy/Hollywood Regency/Chinoiserie.
ReplyDeleteI adore the first 3, I attended decoupage classes whilst living in Dubai so I may just have to have a go at making one....
