The Chinoiserie Dressing Room

Jewelry Designer Stephanie Lake
I am an absolute sucker for a beautiful dressing room and this is absolutely killer. Can you find the Chinoiserie touches? They include a Chinese Chippendale mirror, a turquoise foo dog, a turquoise Chinese man figurine, a turquoise lacquer box, a blue and white Chinese porcelain vase used as a container, a Chinese wooden stand, and my favorite, a dragon above the window. Speaking of the window, check out the gorgeous silk taffeta window treatment all corseted up like a ball gown. I adore the dark walls and the pale blue leather slipper chair, vanity, and vanity chair. The modern rug in purple, orange, and white is a fabulous and unexpected touch. A touch of leopard, of course. Quite a Mary McDonald vibe here. Thanks so much for the head's up from Ellen of Color Calling that this is the vanity of jewelry designer Stephanie Lake featured in Decorati.

  1. OH-to live that life. My favorite the dragon over the window and that to dye for mirror.

  5. It is all so lovely, but I have never seen drapery tied up like that. I think that it is a brilliant solution for so many drapery issues. Panels too long, wide, uneven hemming...it would all be hidden by this treatment. Not to mention the fact that looks impeccable.
