My first Chinese porcelain purchase many years ago was a beautiful pair of antique foo dogs that I still have and love. Foo dogs (actually Chinese guardian lions) symbolize powerful spiritual protection, prosperity, and authority. Traditionally displayed in pairs outside palaces, temples, and homes, they act as celestial sentinels to ward off negative energy and bad luck.

Happy August. This summer is literally flying by. Fall will be here in the blink of an eye. Summer seems even shorter here because schools start here in mid August. I always started school after Labor Day and was surprised how early schools open in the South.
