No Power

Sunset in Belle Haven

A lovely sunset last evening belied 70 mile an hour winds all day Friday and high winds continuing today with massive power outages. I lost power at noon yesterday and decided to escape to a friend's today (with power) with my three dogs to await restoration that could take days. Many trees down in my neighborhood so I am happy we are all safe and sound and my property is fine as well.

Sunday Inspiration and Cool Thoughts

We have been without power here since Friday evening when a crazy storm burst called a derecho left millions in the dark with temperatures here of 100 degrees and over. There are long lines for gas and food at the businesses that do have power. I stopped in Panera last evening and the place was like a shelter with mothers with infants, the elderly, entire families seeking air conditioning, food, and cold drinks. Power may not be on for everyone for another week. This beach scene above looks very inviting. I am open to any invitations. I am penning this using my husband's laptop at a Starbucks as my iPad is not ideal for blogging. Hopefully we will be back up soon!
