This is a fantastic combination - the geometric boldness of the zig zag pattern is a perfect foil to the often more feminine and pretty elements of Chinoiserie. As you may recall, my mother has invited me to start posting on Chinoiserie Chic. As a fashion stylist, I follow many fashion blogs for inspiration. Chinoiserie Outdoors - The Chinoiserie Gazebo

This incredible gazebo from the 2009 Hampton Designer Showhouse by Miguel Elias uses Quadrille by Alan Campbell Zig Zag in Inca Gold on Tint, a wonderful Chinoiserie lantern, and a mass of Chinese orchids.

Zig Zag

The zig zag or chevron design has become such a classic. It melds beautifully with Chinoiserie because its bold and geometric quality is a great contrast to the prettiness of Chinoiserie. This fabulous bed above is from Crate and Barrel's The Land of Nod. It comes in other color choices as well like black and white, gray and white, yellow and gray, and red and navy. Don't think this will only work in a child's bedroom - it is a great choice for any bedroom.
