Bunny Williams Chinoiserie Bath

This wonderful bath is by Bunny Williams called "Bath in a Garden Folly." Ms. Williams drew inspiration from the grand garden rooms of 18th century Europe to create a cozy and peaceful bathroom retreat. I love the use of yellow and celadon or pale green, a combination I use in my own home. The bath has a great mix of limestone, marble, wood, and textiles. I would especially like to point out that the freestanding bath is in the color Tea Green by Koehler. I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of stark white fixtures. This color looks like white that has been kissed by celadon. It does not read as green, but as an incredibly elegant and sophisticated white. It mixes absolutely perfectly with limestone. I also love her latttice walls, Chinoiserie mural, and antiqued mirror. The photo below shows a Koehler sink in Tea Green in a more modern space. Both are great examples of Chinoiserie baths-one with a classic European aesthetic, the other with a more modern, clean-lined approach.
