Totes with a funny or personally expressive phrase have become quite popular in recent years in lieu of your name or monogram.
Most people use the iconic canvas L.L.Bean Boat & Tote for this purpose. I have one in my car that says "Old Money" and one for my wine tasting paraphernalia that says "Noble Rot."

I would love a straw one that I can personalize like "Shell Collector" at top. I'll do some hunting and report back.
We have our first named tropical storm soon to be hurricane Erin crossing the Atlantic. Right now they are saying that it will not impact the mainland. Fingers crossed. Florida is still suffering from PTSD from last summer's hurricanes.
If anyone can source it, it's you. Surely an embroidery place in your area should be able to help. Or print shop? Maybe even hand embroidered in a thick cotton yarn.
ReplyDeletePTSD doesn't even come close. Hosted friends from Asheville for nearly two months. We are all dreading a repeat.
As a shell collector, no doubt you read "The Shell Seakers". The movie was a bit of a dud, but the book is a wonderful summer read. Rosamund Pilcher was an author for women. My hunger for Cornwall was always satisfied by her prose.
Thanks Beth.

My sister gave me a wonderful tote bag that says "I adore pretty things and swear words." I get so many comments about it. I hope hurricane Erin misses you!
ReplyDeleteI think the totes with expressive phrases are lots of fun, too. I love the shell collector straw tote, and I hope you are able to find a source for one like it, Beth.
ReplyDeleteYou Floridians have hurricanes, and we Californians have fires and earthquakes, all of which are very frightening. Earthquakes don't really bother me, but fires scare the daylights out of me. I hope Hurricane Erin passes you by.
