This beautiful vignette is from Amanda Lindroth's newest book Island Dreaming. It features a pair of seven tiered blue and white Chinese pagodas and a shell encrusted bust. This is a wonderful example of how well chinoiserie and seashells work together.
This is my favorite photo of seashells and chinoiserie - I have never found the source but it is gorgeous.

I highly recommend Amanda Lindroth's book Island Dreaming if you love chinoiserie, wicker, seashells, and a beachy, island vibe, and who doesn't? You'll even love the wicker book cover.

Seem to remember your unknown source as a Palm Beach house that was in Veranda. I loved that photo too
ReplyDeleteI remember the source as Veranda, too. One of my all time favorite photos combining two of my loves Chinoiserie and Shells!
DeleteGorgeous, Beth! 💚
ReplyDeleteI purchased both of Amanda's books. In fact, I believe it was you that introduced me to her designs. I also learned of the interior designer, Cathy Kincaid, from you. Thank you, Beth!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been obsessed with sea shell art and making my own to custom match my decor and the pieces work so well with chinoiserie. In fact I just finished two shell plaques to put on either side of a new pagoda top bamboo etagere I found for my beach house!
ReplyDeleteI love your sea fans!
