Gardening in South Florida

CCC

Everyone is posting gorgeous pictures of hydrangeas in full bloom this time of year. It's a bit too hot here for hydrangeas, but this Ixora in my garden loves the heat. It has hundreds and hundreds of blooms.

It's been hot here, so I garden very early in the day. I have also hired a seasoned gardener who starts on Tuesday. She is very old school and very knowledgeable and uses no power equipment whatsoever. She will work here at CCC on Tuesdays hand pruning all of my many topiaries and such that I don't trust my landscaping crew with.

Have a great weekend! The snowbirds have all left, and this is my favorite time of year here. Quiet and low key more like it was before the Gulf Coast of Florida was discovered by everyone.

  2. Beth, your Ixora is spectacular. Never heard of nor seen one. My Hydrangeas are the best they have ever been. Many varieties. Does your lady gardener travel to the N GA mountains? I have Thursdays open and could sure use some help. Wishing you a lovely weekend as well.

  3. These look like Nora Grant Ixoras, my very favorite. They make the best bouquets and last a long time indoors. That beautiful coral color is wonderful in a blue & white container.
