Palm Beach Style & Palm Royale

Palm Royale

Florida is hot, literally and figuratively, the second most popular state to move to after Texas. As I posted on last week, the new HGTV Rock the Block is set right up the road in Treasure Island, Florida. And the brand new series Palm Royale, set in the sixties in Palm Beach premieres this Wednesday on Apple TV.

Time to pull out your vintage Lilly Pulitzer - I did just that over the weekend. And lots of stores and labels are featuring "vintage" Palm Beach style. This will be a hot look this spring and summer.

Estée Lauder needs to bring back Princess Grace Coral - the best coral lipstick ever -

There will be caftans, of course. My go-to label is Frances Valentine. They can be dressed up or down and they are perfect for entertaining at home - they bring to mind the "hostess gowns" my mom wore hosting dinner parties in the sixties.

And don't forget your Jack Rogers sandals! Very Jackie Kennedy and very Palm Beach.

I will be so in my element - all of this personifies the way I dress (and the way women dressed back in the day before tattoos, nose rings, and purple hair).

  2. OMG, I remember those super short mini skirts - and let's not forget hot pants! I don't know about Florida, but hot pants were really big here in California. Such a fun, glamorous era with the big, beautiful hairstyles, beautiful makeup and colorful clothes. Sadly, we've been lacking glamour for too long. I think we are overdue! Thanks for this fun post, Beth.
