Figs

de Gournay

This gorgeous wallcovering by de Gournay features a fig tree in a blue and white cachepot. I love figs and have a favorite recipe with figs to share that is great for entertaining. It is wonderful with Champagne.

Crostini with Goat Cheese & Fig Preserves

Cut a baguette on the bias into about 20 1/2 inch slices.

Brush with olive oil and bake at 400 degrees for about 8 minutes.

Let cool and spread with goat cheese and then top with fig jam/preserves.

How that's for easy?

I often use Bonne Maman Fig Preserves easily found at most grocery stores.

Saturday is the first day of fall and it is feeling like autumn here - the highs will just be in the eighties!

  3. We have a fig tree, and I do lots of things with the figs, if I can keep my husband from eating them all right off the tree! A great appetizer is a ripe fig, stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in a little piece of mostly cooked bacon. Run it under the broiler till the bacon is brown and sizzling, and served immediately on little plates with a cocktail fork. You can also put this on a little bit of toasted baguette like a crostini if you prefer.
