Fresh Herbs - Saveur |
First, I combined in a small bowl 4 ounces of room temperature goat cheese and four ounces of cream cheese with 1 heaping teaspoon each of fresh chopped rosemary, basil, and dill (you can use any fresh herbs) and the zest of 1/2 a lemon. Then refrigerate for an hour to let flavors combine.
I sliced a baguette on the bias (with slices about 1/2" thick) and brushed it with this amazing Meyer Lemon Olive Oil and baked them on a cookie sheet at 400 degrees until golden brown, about 8 minutes depending on your oven.

Let the crostini cool. After an hour of chilling the goat cheese mixture, take it out to soften. Then spread on the toasted crostini. Top with fresh ground pepper.
One baguette makes about 24 to 30. They flew off the platter! Any fresh herbs work in this recipe.
A couple of wonderful followers have alerted me that DKHardware has the pink lightbulbs at a fabulous price, even though you pay shipping. I have not used this website myself before, but they get good reviews. Click here.
