This wonderful trellis room is in a Palm Beach home once owned by Marjorie Merriweather Post. The manse was built in the 1920s. This was the cereal heiress' first Palm Beach home designed by Marion Sims Wyeth who also designed Post's second now infamous Palm Beach home Mar - A - Lago. The color palette of white with pops of chocolate brown and soft coral pink is so lovely.

The skirted table fabric is Fortuny. The brown and white pillows are a favorite chinoiserie fabric of mine - Quadrille's Lyford Background in Brown on White.

Did ever wonder about the name Quadrille? This is what I found.

The First Quadrille at Almack's

The quadrille was introduced to England around 1808 by a woman known as Miss Berry. It was introduced to the Duke of Devonshire and made fashionable by 1813. In the following years it was taught to the upper classes, and around 1816 many people could dance a quadrille. It became the standard dance of the Victorian ball. (Wikipedia)

I love the white grotto shellback chair on the far right. The chandelier is antique.

The panelling in the room is the original. The ten floor to ceiling doors all open to the garden.
