Shelter Magazines

MILIEU

I use to subscribe to many shelter (interior design, home furnishings, gardening) magazines and alas! so many of my favorites are gone, most recently Martha Stewart Living. So on my To Do list is to add some new magazine subscriptions.

I have read absolutely amazing reviews of MILIEU magazine. A quarterly publication, in MILIEU, every story captures the look and feel, the mood and character, the style of a place—its milieu.

The milieu that defines a beautiful home or garden, the fashions and jewelry we wear, the places to which we travel, the art and culture we experience, the creative people who inspire us—these are the elements of MILIEU.

  1. Definitely missing the Martha Stewart magazine. I do subscribe to Flower Magazine and really enjoy. There was a time I had 6 subscriptions going but they no longer exist.

  2. Southern Home is excellent

  3. I have always loved Veranda. Elle Decor is one of my favorites but has become not as consistent lately. I still get Architectural Digest, but not in love. I always subscribed to House Beautiful but stopped a few years ago when it became geared to children's rooms.

  4. I subscribed to Southern Accents for years and still have the last issue. My current faves are Veranda, Southern Home, Flower and House & Garden UK. Occasionally pick up a copy of Traditional Home, Charleston Style & Design and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles from the newsstand if the issue looks interesting. Nixed Elle Decor, Architectural Digest and House Beautiful--too much over-the-top design on their pages.

  8. I love Veranda and usually love Milieu. I buy House Beautiful, Canadian House and Home and Traditional Home frequently. I seldom buy AD or Elle Decor - they're just too over the top for me. Like most people here, I miss Southern Accents so much. And I miss House and Garden.

  9. Veranda and Flower are two of my favorites. I also subscribe to The English Home, which I love. I was subscribing to Milieu, but let my subscription lapse. I probably should renew it. It's a beautiful magazine. I'm partial to the English periodicals, but of course they are more expensive. I think British House and Garden is fantastic. The World of Interiors is a beautiful magazine, Beth. It's not especially coastal, but boy, is it gorgeous! You would probably enjoy it. Great post, by the way.
