Alfredo Parades - House Beautiful |
I am going to guess that seashells don't spring to mind when decorating for Christmas. But for those of us in seashore communities especially, seashells work beautifully with holiday decor. Above, vintage seashell planters with hollies decorate the back porch of this Shelter Island, New York home. I love Shelter Island. Vintage seashell decor has become highly collectible BTW.
I love this seashell encrusted bust all decked out for the holidays.

Add some gilded seashell ornaments to the Christmas tree.
This giant clamshell is a bargain and fabulous filled with ornaments or flameless candles for the holidays.
Amanda Lindroth's gorgeous wicker pagodas are wonderful for the holidays lit with flameless candles and mixed with a collection of seashells.
This Venetian Grotto Style Mirror would be wonderful for the holidays.
I picked up this seashell Christmas cone at HomeGoods. The crystal pagodas are Bunny Williams (no longer available) and the tulipieres are vintage.

The seashell wreath is from HomeGoods and the Forest Fir candle is a real steal. My entire house smells like a fresh cut Christmas tree from just one of these three wick candles. Find them here. Also makes a lovely hostess gift.

I would love this seashell chest in an entryway.
I have nestled favorite Christmas ornaments among conch seashells on my antique chinoiserie chest.

And an absolutely gorgeous seashell covered Christmas tree by Danielle Rollins in her Palm Beach home.

Just wonderful. I adore Amanda Lindroth's wicker pagodas.
ReplyDeleteI love all of her wicker accessories. They are so charming.
DeleteThank you for the candle recommendations a few posts back. I got the Threshold Fir candle, pictured in this post, and the scent is divine and the candle looks elegant, belying the very reasonable cost.
ReplyDeleteGreat - the candle is a steal. I am ordering more before they run out.
DeleteI bought two scallop shell wreaths at HomeGoods a few years ago and use large deep red pillar candles with them at Christmas and they look really pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
DeleteSeashells are never out of style. I display mine year round.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely.
