This beautiful entryway features Schumacher's Hydrangea Drape wallpaper.
Apparently the lamps are magical lamps - where are the electrical cords and the electrical outlet? I am aware that there are battery lamps like Modern Lamp, but I do not believe that is what these are.
I do find interesting the mix of Chinese porcelain patterns and colors - three visible here. I love mixing pattern and there are many going on here - six total - the wallpaper, three different Chinese porcelain patterns, two different rug patterns, and the fabric on the Chinese Chippendale chairs.

I do think the patterns all work because he has kept them in soft pastel tones and the pops of black - the gorgeous chinoiserie mirror, black door, art frame, and black and gold side table help ground all the colors and patterns.
I also like the green lampshades. I use to really prefer white or off white lampshades, but I am liking patterned and colored shades more and more. This pretty green brings a pop of color and makes the lamps less formal.
The pair of Chinese Chippendale chairs above are lovely with a classic floral fabric and nailhead trim.
Here is CCC with actual cords on the lamps and an electrical outlet, not photoshopped, just hidden.

Gorgeous entry! I suspect the electrical outlets for the lamps are below that bottom shelf where you can't see them and the photographer tucked the lamp cords out of the way for the photo shoot. Or perhaps the lamp cords were photoshopped out of the picture.
ReplyDeleteGood guesses.
DeleteI've always wondered how do you hide the cords?
ReplyDeleteI use small pieces of packing tape which work beautifully, but small Command strips or twist ties can be used if it is a delicate antique or painted finish.
DeleteCheck out www.ellendaniel.com for custom lampshades! She’s located in Sarasota and her work is phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteIt is Elle Daniel, not Ellen. Your link takes one to an accountant in Evanston, Illinois.
DeleteSorry. I didn’t check my spelling before I posted it. Anyway, I’m good friends with Elles sister and Elle has done work for me. You might check her out.
DeleteYours is FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much.
DeleteYours is completely stunning!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI would rather see a clean wall in the photo than two cords hanging down. Attention to detail makes for a pretty picture.
ReplyDeleteIt also gives people an unrealistic view of what a piece will look like in their own home.
DeleteWould you know the name of the Chinese Chippendale chairs fabric? I think it's beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI can't see it well enough from this view.
DeleteI like the pattern of the lamps. I have found some of those pieces in dishes as well. Some more refined figures than others
ReplyDeleteTrue. It can be beautiful or junky.
DeleteThey may tape the cords to the back edge of the table.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I do.
DeleteAl Spok: LOVE LOVE LOVE your Letters ! Happy HAPPY Labor Day !! for all your GREAT Work
ReplyDeleteThank you! Happy Labor Day!
DeleteThis James Farmer entry hall is just so pretty. I love everything about it - the table, the chinoiserie vase on the lower shelf, the gold candle sconces. (I can't wait until everything becomes wireless.)
ReplyDeleteYes, I had thought more would be wireless by now.
DeleteBeth, please do share how you hide your lamp cords. I can see how you could hide the outlet, but not the lamp cords. I've always wondered how I could do that. Also, I have used Linda Daniel at Elle Daniel, too. She is terrific!
ReplyDeleteI use small pieces of packing tape and it works beautifully, but twist ties or small Command strips can be a safer choice on a very delicate finish or antique piece. But I have used packing tape for years.
DeleteRechargeable light bulbs are for sale on Amazon and QVC. I have a pair of sconces that are not wired and use these bulbs in my sconces. I live in hurricane country and often lose electricity and these bulbs are invaluable. I have seen on instagram that many of the designers are using these bulbs as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea.
Delete(But, do they come in pink?!)
