This shot is from the season finale of my favorite show on HGTV - Home Again With The Fords. The first two seasons were called Restored By The Fords. I love the show and her style. I am an HGTV addict and would love to hear what shows you all watch on HGTV. My other faves are The Boise Boys, Windy City Rehab, Farmhouse Fixer, Christina On The Coast, and Nate and Jeremiah Save My House.
And no, I do not like Fixer Upper or Home Town (at all). And I can't deal with most of the flipping shows because quite frankly the before tours are often too unseemingly for me to deal with. LOL. Please share your favorites - I'm sure there are HGTV fans out there.
Not HGTV but I absolutely love Escape to the Chateau, probably because of my affinity for funky junk. I have a screen like the one above but larger and more weathered. I love it because it has more character than the ones in the consignment shops.
ReplyDeleteI thought Escape to the Chateau was a fun show. I loved when they installed the elevator. LOL!
DeleteEscape to the Chateau, which started in the US on our PBS channels, is now on HGTV.
DeleteI will have to watch it. I turned it on once and couldn't stand looking at the couple.
DeleteAgree, I love Escape to the Chateaux and the spin off where the host visits other run down chateaux. I saw all seasons on Peacock. Liked The Fords a lot. Also HGTV rock The Block and Reno without Demo (1st episode) and a favorite was One of a Kind. Stone House Revival on DIY channel if you like 200 yr old New England homes. Pamela
DeleteI am not a Fixer Upper fan, but I do love Home Town. I just think Ben and Erin are as cute as can be and I love the idea of a quaint small town! I haven't watched any of the ones you mention, but I might give them a try.
ReplyDeleteThey are too country for me.
DeleteI used to be an addict of HGTV until I just couldn't take it any more. Same ol' same ol' (farmhouse) decor, everyone has to be a clown, and everyone gets into a demo. I find their "antics" irritating and distracting.
ReplyDeleteBack in the day, This Old House with Bob Villa was my fave. Real experts, straight delivery. Now I like Open House NYC, Beach Front Bargains and House Hunters International.
Yes, we really need another show with farmhouse decor - help me. I actually enjoy the "antics" in general - I find it entertaining.
DeleteSorry, I'm not a fan of HGTV. I used to love it years ago when they did gardening shows, handyman shows, and the occasional decorating show. I thought Trading Spaces was a hoot. But HGTV lost me forever when all the home makeover shows started becoming more about identifiable branding and less about the individual houses being done over.
ReplyDeleteI actually love it and find that the personalities make it more fun.
DeleteI also love Escape to the Chateau. They are so creative and quirky....it is just fun to watch. That said, I have HGTV on all the time and could watch Nate and Jeremiah 24/7.
ReplyDeleteNate and Jeremiah are so incredibly talented and their kids are too cute.
DeleteRock the Block is a new show I like to watch. It takes teams of designers and gives them a blank space to design each week. They are given the same space each week in a new build and it's interesting to see how each team of designers interprets the same space.
ReplyDeleteI watched last season and am watching this. I did not include it in my favorites because the judges are lame and it rewards mediocre design with the premise that you are looking at appraised value and not best design. But I love the designers last season and this.
DeleteI watch Nicole Curtis's new show Rehab Addict Rescue on HGTV. It is still design oriented, like her other shows, rather than personality driven. Windy City Rehab is good, and the problems with her partner are interesting because realistic. My favorite is Restored with Brett Waterman, which is on DIY, again because it is about the design and not personalities. I used to love HGTV and Food Network, but not anymore. I agree with Bg, the original Bob Vila This Old House was a perfect diy show; I remember the first season very well.
ReplyDeleteI can't watch Restored because of his cowboy hat.
DeleteI would enjoy HGTV more if it was less formulaic. I do like the picture you posted here!
ReplyDeleteJust too much farmhouse for me.
DeleteAnother vote for Escape to the Chateau. I don't love it so much for the decor, although I thought the copper bathtub and bathroom sink in Angel's potagerie suite were just gorgeous, and the potagerie fabric that she had specially made was fun too. I love the idea of a French Chateau, (who wouldn't), and this couples courage in taking it on.
ReplyDeleteI mentioned above that I tuned it on once but they are so unattractive and weird looking I couldn't deal with it.
DeleteI love the Fords; her style is so fresh and elegant but definitely not pretentious! I was so disappointed when they didn't win Rocking the Block. I also like Home Town. I do watch some of the other shows but not as much as I used to.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Rocking the Block is the premise of appraised value and not design. Add square footage and you win. Nate and Jeremiah do not have a prayer this season nor did Leanne last.
DeleteI like Nate and Jeremiah because they mix it up. I still like House Hunters International. Otherwise I watch Sarah Richardson on YouTube. I really miss her shows when they were on HGTV. Home Town is fine, but I find myself worrying about what they don't do to some of those house wreaks.
ReplyDeleteLOL.
DeleteWindy City Rehab is my fave.
ReplyDeleteI, like you, don't like Fixer Upper. It's boring to me. Home Town is getting old. So is Good Bones. I'll switch to Food Network when those shows come on. House in a 100 Days, is ok. The Fords, I like. I have the tv on most other times for the noise while I crochet. But I will stop to watch the shows I listed
Alison Victoria and Leanne are so talented. The others not so much.
DeleteI love the Boise Boys. Those guys have heart. I also like the interior design on Home Town.
ReplyDeleteI am delighted they like mid century and modern and not farmhouse. Lots of kids.
DeleteRehab Addict Rescue,Good Bones and the one with the Fords I like alot, some of the other shows are just too much.
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
