Chinoiserie High/Low

Rebecca de Ravenel Chinoiserie Bon Bon Earrings

If the truth be told, I love fashion almost as much as I love interior design. I especially have a thing for earrings And I wear earrings 24/7! I am a big fan of Rebecca de Ravenel's. I love these Chinoiserie earrings so much, but they are $295.

Etsy Chinoiserie Bon Bon Earrings

And these on Etsy are $25 for the small and $30 for the large and the seller has 1,800 sales and rave reviews. BTW, they are available in large or small, clip or pierced, silver tone or gold tone fittings. (I do not have pierced ears and love finding clips).

Guess which ones I am ordering?

  1. I just ordered the smaller earrings, I’ll bet there will be a run on them today!

  2. I just ordered them too. Thank you!

  3. What a great find! Don't you love it when that happens? Extra gratifying.

  4. Knowing you the way we do ~ I’m going to say you’ll stay true to go big or go home and order the largest ones they make 😉 thanks for always sharing your great finds. ☀️❤️☀️

  5. I'd love to see more fashion posts these earrings are gorgeous!

  6. It is amazing how "designers" are able to overprice their goods by such a huge percentage! But...someone must buy them at that high price.

Have you seen the hand painted oyster shells available on etsy??? If not you will love them! A bit pricy but so cute. I have not ordered any as of yet, but hope to soon.

    1. Generally the designer's overpriced item factors in the originality of design--the intellectual property. It's often better made as well.

Much like the Hermes Kelly bag: you can easily pay over $15k for an authentic new bag or you can get a knock-off for under a $100. Much has been written and debated about this but ultimately people decide for themselves what something is worth to them and it's always subjective.

    2. teaorwine - Yes, the oyster shells are darling.

Delta - True, and I am a big fan of designer items.

  7. I would love for you to include more fashion posts, especially about your go-to outfits, investment buys, tips for finding dupes for expensive items (you are a master of that!), and how you adapt your outfits seasonally (i know it’s still warm in Sarasota). I just love your style and it would be inspiring to me to get your thoughts on clothing.
