Urban Outfitters Surya Sun Wall Hanging |
So in a couple short hours I will be the owner of my very own dream house in Venice, Florida. The past few years have included my dearest friend dying in my arms from stomach cancer, my husband of thirty five years dropping dead of a heart attack, moving to Florida with someone who turned into a nightmare, and now living in an epicenter of a global pandemic. Is there a happy punchline here? Hardly. But hopefully "Happy Days Are Here Again."
I bought this darling sun wall hanging at Urban Outfitters. I love Amanda Lindroth's whimsical wicker and rattan pieces, but the price tags not so much. This sweet rattan piece reminds of the beautiful sunshine we have virtually every day of the year here, and serves as a metaphor that the sun is coming up on a new day in my life.
I can't wait to start sharing this house redo with all of you. I think and trust it will be great fun and that I will find the peace that has been missing in my life of late. Thank you for joining me in this journey. It is so much more fun sharing it with all of you.
I'm so excited and happy for you. I'm sorry for everything that has happened to you. Hopefully this will turn the page to a wonderful new beginning for you. I can't wait to see what you do with your beautiful new home!!! Congrats!

ReplyDeleteThere's only one thing more exciting than moving into a new dream house. Bringing a newborn baby home. Happy days!! 🥂🎉🥂 Question, though. Did you marry the nightmare? Sounds like you did. Hell, why stay married to a nightmare. xo
ReplyDeleteOh my no, I didn't marry him. I'm not as stupid as I look. LOL. Thanks. Great to be moving forward.
DeleteThe wicker sun is so happy! It would make me smile every time I looked at it. Onward, Beth. Steady as you go.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I want a house that is happy and fun.
DeleteAll the best for you. I hope the tough days are behind you and your new home is the start of happier days.
ReplyDeleteMe too and thank you. I have certainly learned the importance of resilience in life.
DeleteSometimes we have to go through chaos to find the sunshine, it seems like that is a flow right now for many of us. I lost my Mother and sister in an 11 month month period. Could not believe the strength it took to move on, and find joy. You seem to be a strong person who is finding joy too. Blessings to you. The sunshine is a great symbol for this new beginning. Btw, I was up in Door County and your Blue Ox is still thriving. Think I will have to try the chili sometime in the winter. Your great, creative ideas begin to be real starting today, decorate with joy!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the loss of your mother and sister. Enjoy Door County - such a gorgeous area. I will never forget seeing the aurora borealis many nights. Thanks and so great to know the Blue Ox is still there.
DeleteYou go girl! Wishing you nothing but sunshine and birdsong.
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet. Thank you.
DeleteSo happy for you, Beth! We will be closing on a summer house in Michigan in a few weeks, too! Can't wait to see what you do with your house!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbi. Congrats on the Michigan house. You sure you want to miss summers here? LOL. I'm looking forward to working on the garden once I get the house done. Best wishes.
DeleteIt is so lovely to read how much happier you are becoming recently. You are a good reminder that it's never to late to start over.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I think we will all look back at 2020 and think WOW!
DeleteCongrats! You are truly an inspiration. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
ReplyDeleteYou are so nice. Thank you for your comment.
