Palm Love

Meg Braff

This brass palm lamp is spectacular! I would love a brass palm floor lamp for my new home, but the prices on vintage ones are crazy - this one on 1st dibs is twenty thousand dollars.

I really love this one from cb2 and it is gorgeous in person -

And at $399 and 15% off right now, it is very tempting.

Here it is in a room. It has a Palm Beach, Hollywood Regency, vintage, a bit Bohemian vibe I really like.

It's good there is online shopping during this. I notice that furniture delivery now is generally contact free and they leave it outside. I can't imagine doing that for really large pieces. I hope everyone has a lovely Memorial Day weekend in spite of everything. I am going to spend some time on Sunday driving around Venice.

  1. OMG! That lamp is IT!!! You could purchase now and live with it for 30 days (or close to it) to see if you really love it. Return it if it doesn't work out. Pricing is great!

    1. I've seen it in person and know I love it. I very rarely return anything - I know when I see something generally.

  2. Goodness! The cb2 lamp would be perfect for a dim corner in my home office, especially given that I could be telecommuting for quite some time. No longer on sale, but will be keeping an eye on it. Thanks for sharing!

    1. If you sign up for texts from CB2, they send you codes for special discounts. I got a 15% off one for full price items yesterday - 84810110000908462857 - don't know if this will work for you for not.

  3. I love the sophisticated palm trees. They have a 1940s club feel. You can hear a young Frank Sinatra singing in the back ground. And cocktails on a silver tray... Oh well, back on earth Lilly Pulitzer did a Palm Tree Chandelier for Pottery Barn Kids of all things. I just bought it and put it in my guest room. I love it! Great size for a powder room too. Extremely affordable too.

    1. Last night we had Manhattans and sat at the baby grand singing Sinatra and show tunes - Golf Guy is a singer and piano player. I love that chandelier - it is really a great deal.

  4. I like —not love—the chandelier version. I would have to take a machete to the palm tree lamp. That lamp in a room with Dorothy Draper's Brazillance might induce psychosis in those of us who do not have ocean or love of tropics in our DNA! However, I so agree with you about your earlier post on the putrid state of peach. When pink turns apricot on the color wheel, I jump off and don't even talk to me about orange

  5. There is a green plastic one complete with coconuts that goes outside and a house I always passed by when visiting my Mum had one -- at night it light up!

Well.... the Council made him take it out as it upset the traffic (it was on a busy street) and some accidents happened because of people gawking at it while driving!!
I thought it was sort of cute and I do miss it ! lol

    1. That's funny. I am looking forward to lighting palms at Christmas. But if done wrong, palms with lights going up them can look like phallic symbols.
