Pairing the Chinese Chippendale Chair

Jonathan Adler
For my dining room redo, I have decided to pair a round dining table with white Chinese Chippendale chairs. One idea I can't get out of my mind is a table I have loved for years, the iconic mid century modern Warren Platner table. Not sure if I will go this route or not, but I do love this table. It is available in vintage versions and authorized reproductions by Knoll as well as knockoffs.

  1. I love your home and "stalk" all your posts. I think you should go for the modern table pictured here. It would be nice to see something "different" in your home. Shake things us a little LOL!

  2. I love this idea, the Platner table is one of my favorites, and paired with the Chippendale chairs, it gives what I call a "Chinese Hollywood Glam" feel. That's the term I used to describe my living room; it's a combo of Hollywood Regency and Chinoiserie.

  3. Hi Beth
I have a round dining table and often wish I did not as it is impossible to enlarge if you have a lot of diner guests and need a larger table. Extendable tables are very practical (if perhaps a bit boring). But I admit that it all depends on the size and shape of your room and other dining and seating alternatives you may have in the house. 5. I'm looking for a dining table to go with my chairs (black) and I've thought of this one as well. I love that it's a pedestal. I think the mix of the glass and metal with the wood & bamboo is fun and slightly unexpected.
