Orange Chinoiserie Dining Room
I was excited to see an article in Traditional Home online on Showhouse Rooms in Orange. My dining room is wallpapered in a wonderful orange Chinoiserie paper, but on tap soon is a refresh of some other elements in the room. I fell in love with this dining room by Alexandria, Virginia interior designer Shazalynn Cavin-Winfrey for the D.C. Design Showhouse.
This is a wonderful example of how to update a formal room to make it more fresh and modern. Note the breakfront painted coral, the corner banquette in salmon velvet, the ceiling wallpapered in marble, the pagodas flanking the fireplace, and the dining room chair frames painted blue. The Chinoiserie fabric on the dining chairs is Cowtan & Tout La Pagode Chine. For more details, here is the link.

ReplyDeleteLoving that coral/ terracotta shade and it looks superb on so many pieces. I once painted a small drop leaf desk in that shade.

I can see why you like it. The painted cabinet is fabulous! The fabric on the chairs is perfection.

For anyone zooming in on that luminous chandelier, it seems that beauty goes for about $15,000! ZOWIE!
