Kerry Steele Inspiration Board

As you know, I love adding a piece of abstract art to any room. It adds a fresh and modern element and mixes beautifully with Chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, traditional, you name it. Kerry Steele has just completed three new pieces on linen that I wanted to share with you. The linen adds such a wonderful textural quality that is even more beautiful in person.

I had fun creating a little vignette with the piece shown above and just below entitled "Two Temples." I combined it with a Dorothy Draper chest, two preppy pink vases, and a navy chrome Harry Allen pig bank. This would be so fun in an entryway, a nursery, or next to a bed. I love the combination of black, gold, pink, and navy.

Below are the three new works on linen. The fist two are in her Etsy store and I have provided links in the captions. If you are interested in information on the last one, you can contact Kerry at art@kerrysteele.com. View all of her work on her website and her Etsy store. Have you noticed that the One Room Challenge participants are going wild over Kerry's art?

  1. Interesting story in today's New York Times about the Scalanamdre "Zebras" paper - apparently it was designed in 1945 for an Italian restaurant in Manhattan. It certainly has stood the test of time.

  2. I am so in love with the painting you used of Kerry's. I was actually admiring it just yesterday. To see it in a setting like this really brings it to life. The pinks and the strong lines from the chest are fantastic. Very daring and it worked.
