Navy - The Powder Room

We begin our new series on Chinoiserie Chic's Color of 2013 - Navy with the smallest room in the house - the powder room. Look at the tremendous impact this color adds to the powder room. A great starting point is a Chinoiserie wallpaper in navy like Jennifer Dengel used in this powder room just above and below.

Walls painted navy blue are another wonderful idea. Not all of these navy painted powder rooms have Chinoiserie elements, but imagine them with a pagoda mirror, Greek key towels, or perhaps prints from The Pink Pagoda. I also love combining stripes and Chinoiserie and navy and white stripes (whether wallpaper or painted) would be a great backdrop for some Chinoiserie touches. Note too how the wallpaper was extended onto the ceiling in a couple of these.
