One of my very favorite wall treatments is grasscloth. Green, environmentally friendly, elegant, textural, warm, and sophisticated, it can be made from sea grass, jute, hemp, arrowroot, rush, sisal, or bamboo. It is wonderful in new homes or homes without architectural detailing, adding instant character. It can even be screen printed or embroidered. I especially love grasscloth in my color of the year navy. Thursday we will look at some of my favorite navy wallpapers, including several grasscloth ones.

Bungalow 5 Navy Grasscloth Parsons Table - available as a coffee table, side table, or console table |
OMG I LOVE navy grasscloth. I wish my hubby would be more on board with wall paper in general. I blame it on his mother and her abundant wallpapering of the 80s...very chic then....scarred him for life I'm afraid :) PS I am addicted to your blog. I am recently obsessed with this whole Chinoiserie thing and can't stop LOL.
ReplyDeleteBeth the grass cloth is stunning along with the fabulous screen and then I love the twig side table as well!

Actually, it is often made from that most plentiful vine kudzu.
ReplyDeleteI've been a little afraid of committing to navy wallpaper, but considering grasscloth! This marries both ideas- perfect! I may have to create a pinterest board of navy grasscloth!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm 100% on board with this too. How do you find so many great pics Beth?? I want a Navy Grasscloth room now too!
ReplyDeleteBeth, for your readers, tell them that most grasscloth takes paint beautifully. If they have grasscloth in a dated color already installed, just paint it. It will look fabulous again!
