A Chinoiserie Porch
Instead of adding a screened-in porch to their home, this Atlanta couple added a freestanding porch with Chinoiserie influence inside and out. Inspired by legendary decorator Dorothy Draper, this "summer house" is filled with glamorous Chinoiserie touches like the Chinese Chippendale railing, Chinese Chippendale chairs, blue and white Chinese porcelain, a Chinese garden stool, and pops of Chinese red. I especially like the Chinese red painted inside the bookcases. Carleton Varney's book In The Pink is a wonderful way to learn more about Dorothy Draper's style. Who else misses the "old" Greenbrier?

A separate room is perfect. My favorite is the first image.
