I came across this photo above and it reminded me of how well brown walls, whether painted or papered, work with Chinoiserie. I love the contrast of the dark brown against white Chinese Chippendale furniture or blue and white Chinese porcelain. I also like it when brown is combined with pink, coral, or orange.
