Yesterday, with exactly 5 minutes to browse before another appointment, I popped into my favorite thrift store and immediately spotted four mirrored Chinoiserie "de Gournayesque" placemats. Each had a price tag of $150 from a local boutique-they are marked Dransfield & Ross and I have several of their pieces. I nonchalantly inquired as to their thrift store price and was told $35 each. Sold!!!!! For inquiring minds, I have shown them with my Lenox Morning Blossom china, Kirk Stieff Williamsburg Shell silver, Kate Spade Larabee Dot saucer champagne glass, and Kim Seybert linen napkin.
Positively lovely. They would look beautiful against my light blue high gloss dining table.

I AM COMPLETELY SLAYED....COMPLETELY!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteUnique! Just in time as I search for place mats and napkins that would go well with tobacco leaf china from Mottahedeh and JA black chippendale chairs with cashin ocean cushions. Any sugestions?
ReplyDeleteI am 'de Gournayesque' with envy! You are making all of us so jealous :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! You had such a lucky day. Did you celebrate with a glass of champagne. . .or race home after your appt to see how all would look on the table??
I would have raced home, pulled everything out of the cabinets, set the table with every variation I could think of, then settled down with satisfaction and a nicely chilled glass of Proseco!
What fun!
