Above is a Mottahedeh epergne that retails for $7500 for the larger, $6100 for the smaller. Below is my Etsy antique/vintage find for $39 that is the same size as the smaller one. If you find any budget friendly versions of higher priced Chinoiserie items, new or old, I would love to include them as a regular feature on Chinoiserie Chic. Please email me.
Lordy mercy!!! I am IN LOVE with your great find!!! WHERE & WHEN???
ReplyDeleteI would KILL for that, for sure! I have a hundred places I could use it, to GREAT effect!!! You stumble upon the GREATEST STUFF EVER!!! The details, please! Makes the find even sweeter!
...and I actually like your blanc de chine version better!
ReplyDeleteI agree with MLHP that the blanc de chine version shines better.
ReplyDeleteMottahedeh makes absolutely fabulous things! I will NEVER ever forget going to a tag sale in CT. at the end of it around 4pm and seeing a 40something piece set of Mottahedeh china sitting there, and it was marked 400 and I got it for 275, they just wanted out of there! I ended up giving it to my mother as a Christmas gift and let me tell you she was very very happy!
ReplyDeleteIt was my personal bargain of a lifetime!
