I was in a very expensive local home furnishings store over the weekend and saw a pair of bamboo director's chairs that looked identical to these at $700 each in a living room vignette. They were shown as sitting chairs along with a traditional sofa and lots of blue and white Chinese porcelain. I loved the look! I found these above at Walmart for $99.98 for a set of two. They are available elsewhere online as well. I think these could be very Chinoiserie Chic in a living room, dining room, breakfast room, or family room. Perfect for that Ralph Lauren/British Colonial look on a budget!
what a great find!
ReplyDeleteI bet you could swap out the fabric, too!
ReplyDeleteWow what a great deal if we look at $ 700!! love this chair, I wish we could add clothes of our own choice, then i'd make the white muted golden or grey!!

First you find the perfect Chinoiserie stool at Kmart and now this chair from Walmart?!?! Clearly the Big Box stores are stepping it up in a big way.
ReplyDeleteTruly the world is at your fingertips! I had directors chairs in my first apartment. And I changed the fabric. My new boyfriend (now husband) was wary about the chair, expressing concerns that the chair might be too dainty for him. I assured him otherwise. He sat down and seat fabric ripped in half. We still laugh about it 36 years later.
