Ryan Korban's Chinoiserie Kitchen-Two Versions

Recall my post earlier this week on the Chinoiserie kitchen from the new issue of Lonny? I located an earlier version of interior designer Ryan Korban's same kitchen with black walls, a white refrigerator, a Ming horse, and sans Farrow & Ball wallpaper, chandelier and bench. Which do you prefer? They are both fabulous, right?

  2. I actually like them both, the 1st is a more masculine look, and it does highlight his great accessories. That being said I love the wallpaper. What did he put on the floor?

  4. I love the wallpaper better and I think it is textbook for showing big patterns make small spaces look bigger.

  5. Wallpaper hands down. Although the painted walls look great it lacks that je ne sais quoi that the paper evokes. Happy weekend to you Beth.

  6. I love it when someone does a black wall...it's too bad the space doesn't allow for both...or maybe he could have kept the black on the lower half of the wall? The wallpaper does seem a tad busy.

So funny we have the books in common and now the plates. I have a small collection too.

    Have a nice weekend!

  7. I think I like the wallpaper better. So much to look at you don't notice how tight the space is. I think I would like the black for maybe a butlers pantry.

  8. I am partial to the wallpaper also....really distracts from the small overall size.

  9. I think I am liking the wallpaper! I am not one to usually do just one wall in wallpaper but I think it might have been cool to do the very back wall in black with the white frame on it. Just a thought! Kathysue

  11. Karena-I love the wallpaper too. Not sure what the floor is-my choice would be ebonized wood.

  14. Deb-I agree-the wallpaper is so elegant and I am getting a bit tired of black chalkboard paint.
