October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so many bloggers are doing pink posts this month as a reminder of the importance of screening and early detection. In memory of my husband's sister Emily who died of breast cancer, here are some lovely examples of pink Chinoiserie.
Beautiful feminine images for a most wonderful and important cause. I keep saying if breast cancer killed men the way it kills women, we'd be finding better ways to fight this disease. I know, at almost 60 I can be a tad cynical about these things. To your sister-in-law, Emily and the family she had to leave behind.
ReplyDeleteVery nice tribute post for such a worthy cause! Any chance you can tell me the name of and design house that carries the fabric on the little computer chair in photo #8? Would be perfect fabric to put on my jazzed up JCP chinoiserie stools you turned me on to a week ago! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteVickie-Yes, I do know because that's my own kitchen! It's Brunshwig & Fils Xian. I had it vinylized because it's on both of my kitchen stools. I love that fabric.
ReplyDeleteHome Before Dark-So very true. Thanks and have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you for such a lovely post of pink. It is for such a good cause. Every image was refreshing and gives hope.I am so very sorry for the loss of your husbands sister Emily.

What a pretty tribute, Beth! I think I will have to participate and create a pink post as well :)
ReplyDeleteI was sad to hear you lost your sister in law to breast cancer. We would be hard pressed to find someone, anyone at this point who has not been touched by this horrible disease. So cool of you to do a pink post in her honor. Gorgeous photos, all. I really enjoyed it (ps we have the same Mac!) xo kitty
ReplyDeleteI adore this post. It contains so many of my most favorite images that I never before thought of as Chinoiserie. But of course they all are!!! My eye is now keenly trained thanks to you to spot chinoiserie from 30 paces
ReplyDeleteCC-Thanks for your kind words and have a wonderful weekend.

Leeann-Thank you-so true.
ReplyDeleteDiane-I adore pink and think it can be used well anywhere. I don't think many people associate Chinoiserie with pink though.
ReplyDeleteSome of my all-time favorite images - so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAlison-Thanks-pink and Chinoiserie-a no brainer for me.

ReplyDeleteI am wondering who does the lovely blue&white chinoiserie stationery that you featured. I must have some.
Thanks and best,
Mary
Mary-If you look at my August 4th post on The Chinoiserie Baby Shower, these were created by Mary McDonald for a baby shower she hosted. More details are available on my post, but they are not available for purchase, but were done by her.
