The Blue and White Powder Room

Courtney Blanton Interiors

This pretty powder room features Lee Jofa wallpaper, a silver pagoda mirror, and a marble washstand. The paneling provides framing for this beautiful chinoiserie paper.

I do wish the hand towel had a blue monogram. I love white towels, but this looks a tad sad. And the staged flowers tied with a ribbon is just wrong. And is that a silver wine bottle coaster? The staging here is a distraction.

  1. You are so right about the staging. It takes away from this lovely bathroom.

  2. I like the tissue holder. Wonder where to find one like that!

  4. Agree about the wine coaster (and the towel)! Why the wine coaster?!!

    1. Perhaps it's meant to be a ring holder while washing hands?

    2. I purposely leave my rings on to clean them!

  5. Leet me add my own small nit-pick:
-Cover the outlet plates with wallpaper, matching the design, of course.
-Since it is staged anyway, keep the sink counter clear of everything but the soap dispenser.
-A monogrammed towel would be perfect or at the very least, one with navy piping.

    Still...a truly lovely place.

    1. At the very least, they could have used cream switch and outlet plates instead of bright white - especially considering the mouldings are more ivory/cream!

    2. At the very least, they could have used cream switch/outlet plates to match the ivory/cream mouldings. Definitely not as much attention to detail as others may have used!

    3. I think this is a great example of how details make or break a room.

  6. It's beautiful. I wonder if that mirror is silver leafed? The tissue holder is very pretty. Interesting about the wine coaster. I assume it's there to serve a purpose. If that purpose were to hold a vessel, or glass, it seems like the stager would have placed the glass in there.

  7. Love everything but the silver mirror, which looks like a fake stage prop. Sometimes too much IS too much. Best wishes.

    1. I agree on the mirror color. I would have preferred some shade of green (celadon?)
A chinoiserie bamboo mirror would be lovely but would have taken the whole setting in a more casual direction.

    2. I am not a fan of the mirror either. I think it's too heavy visually.

  8. If that's a powder room. I'd have staged with a small evening clutch and the coaster with a martini half empty. Cheers!

  10. A little fern in the wine coaster (toss the flowers) would have been better!
