Miles Redd & Chinoiserie

Miles Redd - Traditional Home

In this living room for the show house at Adamsleigh in North Carolina, Miles Redd combines Chinoiserie furniture from Century with Chinoiserie panels. Note the chairs with peacock fabric, the pagoda chairs, the pagoda cabinets, and the many ginger jars. Scalloped pagoda cornices add even more drama to the oversized windows. A custom blue paint was used on the woodwork.

  2. Love this room formula from Nicky Haslam, Furlow Gatewood, Bill Blass, Penelope Bianchi & etc...

Always works and looks fresh, new.

Susanne Hudson, interior decorator on my team, has a neat trick for cabinets, aka the pair shown, they are hung on the wall, a board under the feet attached for a small shelf.

Sure it's a show house but the height of the cabinets is pedestrian. Hanging them will open the floor too.

Susanne & I have the books by Miles Redd & Furlow Gatewood on order.

  3. I love every item but together it is just too much. The room has a Tony Duquette look ( over the top ). Love your blog, it's an everyday read for me.

  5. I had the pleasure of seeing this room in person and it was AMAZING!! Hard to tell from the photo, but the room was huge, so even though it was a lot going on, it wasn't over bearing. Beautiful!
