A Chinoiserie DIY

Look how this china cabinet went from traditional to Chinoiserie Chic fabulous by two friends with some red, black, and gold paint. What a fantastic Chinoiserie DIY transformation. Have your own Chinoiserie Chic DIY? I'd love to see it.

  1. I like it A LOT: but for my own purposes, I think I would prefer it all one color, either black with gold accents or red with gold accents! IT IS INSPIRING!!!!! My mother has a similar cabinet that I will inherit one day and now I know how to update it....! Wish she would let me do it NOW!!!

  2. Love it! You always have the most fantastic photos to share. Makes you want to go thrifting to find a cabinet or two to paint! Thanks!

  4. Really, really love it!
Painting my front door the coral color. Also love the 2 color curtains.

  5. If I ever have a clean counter, I'll photograph my cabinets. I painted the cabinet frame shiny black that looks like lacquer. Then I painted the cabinet doors red and added new pulls. The counter top got black marble with white veins. It's still a work in progress, but it looks pretty cool. I'm also hand detailing our entertainment center. It's black and I'm using a gold metallic pen. Also a work in progress, as everything is with a preschooler in the house...

  6. Thanks for the inspiration. I have a mid-century modern china cabinet in the dining room. Paint would be a great way to add some flair to it. Now to get brave enough to get it done!

  8. Do you know where I could find the ceramic basket on the floor in the picture?
