I'm A Giant Challenge
I have been having so much fun with this I'm a Giant Challenge that it should be illegal. My dollhouse arrives by FEDEX tomorrow and I can't wait. In the meantime, I have been snatching up Chinoiserie minis everywhere. When this is all finished, I might have to figure out a way to shrink myself so I can live in it.
I have been struggling with what to do for my weekly updates as I don't want the final reveal to be a letdown because I have already shown you all my rooms. I want to be able to make everyone in blogland shut your eyes while I say, "One, two, three, now open your eyes" and you all gasp and cover your mouths, just like on HGTV. One idea is to show you each week one of my finds. Above are three great little Chinoiserie pieces I just picked up - a matching Imari plate (1") and umbrella stand (2"), and a tiny Buddha (1"). These are all vintage pieces from the seller's mother's estate.
Once I get the dollhouse assembled, I can start planning things like wallpaper, window treatments, and floors. You will be quite surprised by my choice of dollhouses. The house I live in is an old Georgian colonial. I wanted my fantasy dollhouse to be quite different and it certainly is.
