Chinoiserie China Patterns High/Low

Metropolitan Home in its May 2009 issue featured two lovely china patterns at different price points. Both are modern, elegant, and romantic, with Chinoiserie inspired flowers and branches. The pattern above is Kate Spade's Primrose Hill for Lenox priced at $139.00 for a 5 piece place setting. It is made of fine bone china with real gold. A very similar feeling is evoked by this Target White and Platinum Collection priced at $24.99-$29.99 for sets of four dinner plates, salad plates, bowls, and mugs. The china is made of porcelain. Either would make beautiful table settings.

  1. The Target pattern is lovely -- they do some excellent near-knockoffs (though their version of the classic Hermes Balcon pattern is probably too close for comfort).

  2. Wow - I love both of these. Actually looking for new, inexpensive plates too abuse around the house. I wish the Target set came in gold. I'm such a gold girl.
