I love tabletop Christmas trees, both real and faux. They are perfect for folks who have downsized. They are also wonderful for spots like your kitchen island, coffee table, sideboard, or entryway table. I place my tree in an enormous blue-and-white fishbowl atop an antique black-lacquered chinoiserie card table. Presents go under and around the table instead of all sprawling over the room. The look is polished but corralled in one space, which I love. Cheers!
